Jai Hind Stamps' Usage
Jai Hind stamps were extensively used on inland and foreign mail. From about 250 covers in the Talwar Collection, only a handful are shown here. The rare and most interesting usage of the stamps happened almost ten years after their issue, when decimalization of Indian currency occurred. The conversion rate of Jai Hind stamps was as follows: 1½ annas = 10 naya paisa, 3½ annas = 23 naya paisa and 12 annas = 75 naya paisa.
