No official First Day Cover was issued for either of the dates on which Jai Hind stamps were issues, thus philatelists across the country either printed Private FDCs or simply used plain covers. A rich variety of such Private FDCs are found and have collectively come to form a popular section of Jai Hind Philately. While no official FDCs were issued, a Folder designed by artist C. Biswas was issued on 15 December 1947. The most incredible first day assemblage of these stamps are found on large sheet of paper with multiple stamps tied by first day circular dates stamps. These sheets originate from the accumulation of a philatelist based in Shillong.
