Crash cover with Jai Hind postmark

Jai Hind postmarked cover posted from Bombay on 20 August 1947, carried on the ill-fated Portland seaplane which crashed in Bahrain Marine Base. Cachet of ‘Damaged by Sea Water’ was applied on the front of the cover.
